Casa de Amparo provides safe shelter and a continuum of prevention and treatment services to abused, neglected and at-risk infants, children and teens and their families in San Diego County. In 1978, three dynamic women dreamed of a program that would change the lives of abused children forever. They devoted their own energy and resources to establish an emergency children's shelter and to secure non-profit corporate status. Casa's mission is to prevent and reduce child abuse and neglect by providing shelter, education, treatment and support to children and their families in San Diego County. They are committed to collaborative use of resources, which are culturally sensitive and targeted to reduce behaviors that endanger children.
